Jenn Schwartz joined Chen Roberts in 2012.  Jenn represents clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters, including employment disputes, contract actions, and professional malpractice lawsuits, and provides counsel on business issues, such as insurance coverage and security interests under Article 9 of the Illinois Uniform Commercial Code.  While at the firm, Jenn third-chaired a trial in the Circuit Court of Cook County that involved direct and derivative claims brought by a shareholder of a closely-held corporation against the corporation's directors for breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, statutory removal of the directors, and review of the corporation's books and records.  In addition, Jenn assisted in defending a large law firm against a legal malpractice action that arose out of the development of real estate and construction litigation.  Jenn also collaborated in defending an accounting malpractice action that resulted in a dismissal that was affirmed by the Illinois Appellate Court.

Before joining the firm, Jenn served as a judicial law clerk in state and federal courts.  Following law school, Jenn completed a two-year federal clerkship for the Honorable Lyle E. Strom, Senior United States District Court Judge for the District of Nebraska.  Jenn subsequently served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Michael B. Hyman in the Chancery Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
